Engagement
Early morning shoots are always the way to go when you're in downtown Chicago, especially when it's an unseasonably warm late October day like it was for this engagement shoot with Kristen and David. These two have such a timeless style and are absolutely adorable together. I'm super excited to have their wedding be my first wedding shoot of 2017! 'Till then, here are some of my favorites from their engagement session :)

These two are getting married this weekend! Here are some photos from their cozy, Pacific Northwest-inspired engagement session. Jenn is originally from Portland, so these spots were perfect to pay homage to her hometown.. and their mutual love for Star Wars :)

Super excited to share some of my favorites from this engagement session with my lovely friends. Getting these romantic cathedral vibes, exciting cityscapes, and vibrant fall woods was an all day effort, but so worth it and enjoyable with these two. Let the countdown to wedding season begin!

There's something magical about forests, don't you think? Jen is a genius for finding this location in the midst of the cornfields in Chambana. This quirky couple was super fun to shoot and hang with at our Alma Mater this summer. See below for some of my favorites :)

When Byron contacted me a couple of months ago asking if I would shoot this surprise proposal, I nearly fell out of my chair in excitement. I wanted to tell Jenny so badly, but decided it would be worth seeing the sheer look of pure shock on her face, which is exactly what happened. After selling his car, writing an original song, and packing for a picnic at the Botanic Gardens, Byron asked Jenny to marry him, and she said yes :) Thanks to my awesome assistants, Brian and Dave for joining in on the fun.

Not only are Daniel and Keshena a super attractive couple, but they're also a power couple for the Gospel. Spending the evening with them was a blast not only because they're hilarious and fun loving, but also because you can see God's love shining through them as they speak to each other and the people around them with love, care, and goofiness. Can't wait to see what's in store for these two :)

Peter and Steffi were featured on a previous post for their proposal, which you can check out: here. Now we enter phase 2 leading up to the big day... the engagement session. I love spending time with these two in general, so this session was a blast-- from bubble tea to carnivals to jumping pictures and hilarious fake punching shots. So happy to tag along on their journey :) To Phase 3 we go! Huzzah!

Proposal shoots are so fun. I feel like a spy or paparazzi finding the perfect hiding spot and capturing the moment unbeknownst to the bride to be. I was especially thrilled because this particular proposal involved a beautiful sun room with windows all around and equally beautiful decorations with string lights and succulents. Also, fun fact-- Steffi is my second cousin which means Peter will be family! Unfortunately, the windows ended up not being so ideal when Steffi spotted me mid-proposal, but they had a good time anyway :) Welcome to the family Pete.
