My sister and I haven't traveled together since our last family vacation years ago and to be honest, we didn't even really like each other that much until I went off to college. We're five years apart, so of course, being the mean older sister, I never paid much attention to her. It's funny how life works because in the past few years, she's become one of my best friends. I never thought we would ever get to the point of traveling alone together and to be honest I was super nervous about getting into fights with her, but our first trip together traveling through Northern California--visiting our dad, his wife, our baby brother and my dear friend, Jonie turned out to be a big success.

Finally finally finally sharing these photos from a styled wedding shoot that I helped my good friend Kat from Deepend Imagery put together (check out her blog here for more pictures). It started with an idea to create a rustic, evergreen, organic elopement with lots of greenery and simple details. We began by piecing together a mood board with just a couple of inspiration pictures from here and there. When that small idea flourished and came to life, it was simply breath taking. Definitely a shoot to remember and the images really speak for themselves. Many thanks to our models Alex Paige and Zacary Clark and our other wonderful collaborators:

Proposal shoots are so fun. I feel like a spy or paparazzi finding the perfect hiding spot and capturing the moment unbeknownst to the bride to be. I was especially thrilled because this particular proposal involved a beautiful sun room with windows all around and equally beautiful decorations with string lights and succulents. Also, fun fact-- Steffi is my second cousin which means Peter will be family! Unfortunately, the windows ended up not being so ideal when Steffi spotted me mid-proposal, but they had a good time anyway :) Welcome to the family Pete.

Ben and Esther's happiness with each other was evident in their constant laughter throughout this entire engagement session. Despite a failed attempt at a tandem bike shoot and a rude encounter with some obnoxious boys, these two never failed to go with the flow and have a good time. Esther was even gracious enough to let Ben feature his Jordans for a couple of shots. Best fiancé ever. As Esther's ex-roommate and formerly bullied friend, I'm so excited to see how far this couple has come and what's in store for them next.

I finally got around to editing these pictures from this fancy fall wedding. James and Melissa are both full of spunk and personality and so is their family, especially the little ones. One thing is for sure, they are both sincerely loved by those around them and are filled with so much love for each other, which is a beautiful thing. The last time I traveled to California, I was an extremely awkward pre-teen so this weekend LA trip with friends was long overdue. Our itinerary consisted of food, food and more food… oh and also some hiking. It wasn't as warm as we would have liked and the trip was far too short, but we didn't waste a moment. I love LA's laid back culture, palm trees, cute neighborhoods and extremely delicious food. The food really reflects the culture around it, which is always what makes it even more delicious. Let's just say it's time for a juice fast.

Earlier this summer, I got the privilege of shooting with my photog buddie and high school friend, Kat. If you haven't seen her work yet, go go go and be ready to drool. She did a post on Todd and Jen's wedding last month, which you can check out here. The wedding was so simple and beautiful at Architectural Artifacts. You could definitely feel the love from all their friends and family as they danced the night away under the twinkling string lights. Best wishes you two!
