2015 Family Shoot Favorites by Nammy Park

2015 was a year of family. Growing to know and love my own family, I realize just how important and precious they are in my life and how God pictures His unconditional love through the good, the bad and the ugly. Juggling photography gigs, editing sessions, a full time job, and attempting to have a social and family life in between is quite the challenge and while it's important to set goals and start the new year off with ambition, it's easy to get burnt out without taking a step back and having a moment of refection and gratitude.

With that being said, I'm so so grateful to have met so many awesome families through family photoshoots this past year. From newborns, to newlyweds, to teens wanting to surprise their mom with before and after photos, each family was so unique and had such different stories to tell. Thanks to all the families that welcomed me into their lives and allowed me to capture these special moments :) My heart is full for 2016!

New York . Travelogue by Nammy Park

Born and raised in Chicago, I would generally consider myself a "city girl." CPS educated, CTA reliant, and winter resilient-- I thought I'd be ready for anything New York could throw at me when I got a last minute opportunity to go for a couple of days. Let's just say I was not prepared for the sheer size of the city and what seemed like the millions of people walking around at all hours of the day. One thing that I loved though is that you can pretty much meet people from literally all walks of life in any neighborhood you go to and they all generally get along. In LA, I saw so many restaurants where I thought, "Chicago needs this!" Not that New York doesn't have its share of amazing restaurants, but seeing the diversity and integration was really when I thought, "Chicago needs this!" NY, you're awesome and I'll definitely be back for more exploring. Photos from my super short trip below, because New York looks particularly good in B&W.

Byron & Jenny . Proposal by Nammy Park

When Byron contacted me a couple of months ago asking if I would shoot this surprise proposal, I nearly fell out of my chair in excitement. I wanted to tell Jenny so badly, but decided it would be worth seeing the sheer look of pure shock on her face, which is exactly what happened. After selling his car, writing an original song, and packing for a picnic at the Botanic Gardens, Byron asked Jenny to marry him, and she said yes :) Thanks to my awesome assistants, Brian and Dave for joining in on the fun.

Daniel & Keshena . E by Nammy Park

Not only are Daniel and Keshena a super attractive couple, but they're also a power couple for the Gospel. Spending the evening with them was a blast not only because they're hilarious and fun loving, but also because you can see God's love shining through them as they speak to each other and the people around them with love, care, and goofiness. Can't wait to see what's in store for these two :)

Southern California . Travelogue by Nammy Park

Cue the "OC" theme song... Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.... Californiaaaaaa. It was stuck in my head pretty much from the moment I stepped off the plane at the chillest airport I've ever been to-- John Wayne, you were a dream. Really, this whole weekend seemed like a dream, eating amazing food, body surfing on some real ocean waves, and spending time with friends. Only a few photos from the weekend because I kept forgetting my phone. Enjoy anyway!

Peter & Steffi . E by Nammy Park

Peter and Steffi were featured on a previous post for their proposal, which you can check out: here. Now we enter phase 2 leading up to the big day... the engagement session. I love spending time with these two in general, so this session was a blast-- from bubble tea to carnivals to jumping pictures and hilarious fake punching shots. So happy to tag along on their journey :)  To Phase 3 we go! Huzzah!
